Both are good apps. They’re good at different things, and the right one depends on how you work.
Choose Zimoma if…
- You mostly write on your iPhone, and want to start a note by typing, talking or snapping a photo.
- You want every note on your phone and working offline, without choosing pages to download.
- You want tasks, daily notes, a calendar and Home Screen widgets right beside your notes.
- You’d like notes that look like paper: ruled, grid or dotted, in a theme you choose.
- You want AI help on the free plan: 20 actions a month.

Switching
Bring your pages from Notion
Zimoma has no Notion connection, but it reads the files Notion exports.
- Export from NotionOpen a page’s ••• menu and choose Export, then Markdown & CSV. Turn on Include subpages to take the pages inside it too.
- Unzip itNotion gives you a zip file. Unzip it so you have a folder: Zimoma reads the files, not the zip.
- Import the pagesGo to Settings › Import from Apple Notes › Import exported files and choose the folder. Despite the name, it takes any Markdown, and pictures in the folder can come along too.
- Bring in databasesEach database comes out as a CSV. Make a collection, then choose Import CSV… from its menu.
Questions
Before you switch
Can Zimoma replace Notion?
For personal notes, tasks and small shared spaces, it can. For a company wiki, or databases with many kinds of views, Notion does more.
Can I use Zimoma on my computer?
Not yet. Zimoma is in beta on iPhone, and iPad is in the beta builds too. Apps for Mac, Windows and Android are being built, and there is no web app.
Does Zimoma work offline?
Yes. Every note is kept on your iPhone and works without a connection. Changes upload when you’re back online.
Can my Notion databases come across?
Yes, as collections. Export from Notion as Markdown & CSV, then bring each CSV into a collection with Import CSV… from the collection’s menu. Collections have Table, List and Board views and ten field types.
Does Zimoma have an API?
Yes. Make a personal access token in Settings › Connections and use the JSON API, or connect an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT with the MCP connector. See Developers.
