Which one suits you
Both are good apps. They’re good at different things, and the right one depends on how you work.
Choose Zimoma if…
- You want your notes on every device you sign in to, on the free plan too.
- You want collections: a reading list or a client list as a table, a list or a board.
- You’d like a daily note, made from a template, beside your tasks and calendar.
- You want to publish a note as a web page, with a password or an expiry date.
- You’d like paper and themes: ruled, grid or dotted, in the colours you choose.
Choose Evernote if…
- You need apps today on Windows, Mac, Android and the web, as well as iPhone.
- You clip a lot from the web, including screenshots you mark up.
- You have years of notes there and they work for you.
- You connect Google or Microsoft calendars, Gmail, Outlook or Slack.
- You assign tasks to other people and track them.

Bring your notes from Evernote
Zimoma reads the HTML files Evernote exports. Text comes across; pictures and attachments may not, so keep the originals.
- Export from EvernoteIn Evernote’s desktop app, select the notes, choose Export and pick HTML. Put the files where your iPhone can reach them, such as iCloud Drive.
- Import into ZimomaGo to Settings › Import from Apple Notes › Import exported files and pick the files. Despite the name, it reads HTML from any app.
- Check what arrivedTitles, headings, text and lists come across. Add any pictures that didn’t by hand.
Questions
Before you switch
Can Zimoma read my Evernote export?
It reads the HTML files Evernote exports: titles, headings, text and lists come across. Pictures and attachments may not, so keep your export until you’ve checked. Zimoma doesn’t read Evernote’s ENEX files.
Can I use Zimoma on Windows or a Mac?
Not yet. Zimoma is in beta on iPhone, and iPad is in the beta builds too. Apps for Mac, Windows and Android are being built, and there is no web app.
How many devices can I use on the free plan?
All of them. On both plans your notes live in your Zimoma account and appear on every device you sign in to.
Is there a web clipper?
No. If you clip a lot from the web, that’s a good reason to keep Evernote for it.
Can AI assistants use my notes?
Yes, if you want them to. Make a token in Settings › Connections and connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant with the MCP connector. See Developers.
